Final matchday is over and all the built up excitement and anxiety has finally been relieved, well at least for now.
In Group A, deals were looking settled as Paris’ new side grabbed first place and Porto grabbed second. In a thrilling competition of these two giants Thiago Silva came out to score a bar-down header from inside the area. FC Porto soon snatched a leveler, but Lavezzi settled it in the second half.
Taking you onto Group B, Schalke and Arsenal qualified through a relatively contesting group. Arsenal took on Olympiacos as Marouane Chamakh and Tomas Rosicky started. Rosicky took the lead for Arsenal just before the break but Olympiacos were quick to pounce and make a sweet comeback over the London side.
Moving on things settled in Group C as Malaga and AC Milan passed leaving Zenit behind, they’ve had theyre fair share of problems as well which might just lead to Hulk leaving in January.
Group D was just as predicted, Real Madrid came on top of Ajax featuring Kaka’s signature finesse goal from outside the area. Borussia Dortmund also claimed victory over Manchester City knocking them completely out of the Champions and Europa League.
Chelsea looked great in their game against Nordsaejalland in Group E, as they thrashed them 6-1 with a brace from Fernando Torres but were unfortunately eliminated. Juventus beat Shakhtar with a single controversial goal from Vucinic.
Bayern Munich and Valencia qualified from a predicted outcome as they advance to the next stages from Group F.
Things twisted with Bracelona as they qualified but leaving Lionel Messi in doubt as he picked up a knock. Only 1 goal away from the record now, Messi has 4 games in hand. The other team to qualify were Celtic, going into the last 16 with lots to show for.
Lastly in Group H Manchester United lost to Cluj from a sublime goal outside the box from Luis Alberto. Turkish side Galatasary won their game and hence Cluj took the way to Europa League as Galatasary qualified.
