Tribute to Harry; Part 3; Tottenham Hotspurs

Hi guys this is the third and final part of the “Tribute to Harry” series!

In his first season he grew as a manager beating teams like Manchester City and Liverpool. He remarkably tied against Arsenal in the North London Derby with a score of 4-4 to silence his critics. During his spell he brought in talented faces in the transfer window including Jermaine Defoe, Wilson Palacios and Carlo Cudicini. This was a major confidence boost for Harry as he had a full squad to play around with. In March 2009 he led them to the League Cup final where they eventually lost to Manchester United on penalties. They finished 8th on the table just missing the chance to play in Europe.Image

In the 2009-10 season, his first full campaign with the London team which was also their most successful season to date started off with 4 straight wins. They qualified for the UEFA Champions League through a play-off, a result of them finishing 4th. A great season gave Harry Redknapp the Premier League Manager of the Year award. The following season his side went as far as the Quarter Finals of the Champions League where they were eventually knocked out by Real Madrid on a score of 5-0 at aggregate.

Despite of him finishing fourth again, he was not able to qualify for the Champions League as Chelsea took their place as Champions.

After the sacking of Mark Hughes, Harry Redknapp took charge of Queens Park Rangers and won their first game on December 15 this season against Fulham with a score of 2-1 at Loftus Road, both goals coming from Adel Taarabt.

This is sadly the end of “Tribute to Harry” series, and comment if you want more of this!
