10. Scholes Makes Return

Looks like he hadn’t had enough! Scholsey came back from retirement just after the first half and many suggested that this was Manchester Uniteds much needed signing in January. It was a disastrous moment for all the people there as this unfolded but after 15 attempts of shocks from the defibrillator Muamba had his heart beating once more. For a 23 year old this was near death experience which led to retirement in the new season. He also named his autobiography “I’m Still Standing” due to this incident.

8. Manchester United lose on GD

The most heartbreaking moment in the Premier League came in the last kick of the season as Manchester City scored twice in stoppage time to comeback and beat Queens Park Rangers and steal the title from Manchester United on goal difference. It’s looking good for United though as they are 7 points clear on top of the table right now producing thirsty performances showing the hunger of regaining their title.

7. Drogba wins Chelsea Champions League

Many were waiting for this fixture to unfold as Bayern Munich took on Chelsea at the Allianz Arena  where the home side were predicted to win the game. It took 83 minutes for Thomas Muller to break the deadlock after a ton of tries on both ends a header that took Cech by surprise and went into the net. It wasn’t over yet though Didier Drogba shot in a header through a Juan Mata corner to equalize just before time as Chelsea were crowned the champions of Europe in a thrilling shootout where Drogba got the last game winning goal.

6. Spain Win Euro

La Roja showed no mercy once again in this international tournament where they thrashed Italy in a 4-1 final at the Euros. Vicente Del Bosque applied a new formation known as the 4-6-0 or the “False 9” formation in a tactic that showed no strikers but only the creative side of the midfielders showing Juan Mata, Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas a chance to go forward.spain euro

4. Van Persie to United

Another signing that caught attention of critics around the world was Arsenals talisman Robin Van Persie moving under Sir Alex’s command.
