Dortmund Go Through

After a tight second leg where Real dominated, Dortmund just managed to go through.

Real came with so much to play for and lived up to it by creating several chances in the first half. Clearly in control for the period Real looked as though they would score but for the lack of finishing. They had all sorts of opportunities but just lacked the final touch.

As second half kicked off the Germans had their fair share of chances too, but it just wasn’t to be. In the dying moments of the game Real got 2 quick goals back through substitute Karim Benzema and Sergio Ramos everybody expected it a 3rd goal coming. As 5 minutes of stoppage time passed by though, the game ended on aggregate of 4-3 for Borussia Dortmund as they advance to the finals.

I think Dortmund do deserve it, they have been stellar this season and have handled everything with composure and even though Madrid put up a great contest in the tie.

6-0 What?

This is madness! Liverpool managed to shrug off a very out of shape Newcastle today who seem to be in need of a new man in charge.

Alan Pardew has achieved success in past years with the club but it does seem like his time is coming to an end. After a loss 6-0 loss to Liverpool tonight lots of people have been already pointing fingers at this man.

After scoring none in the last 2 games but conceding 8 goals, Newcastle just look like an ordinary mid-bottom table side. Many suggest that the English tactics have gotten old and it is time for someone like Roberto di Matteo or Roberto Martinez to take over.

What do you guys think?

Final’s are decided?

Seems like we won’t have to wait for the second leg of the two semi finals that took place this week. With quite impressive results (for Germany) it seems like we already know who’s going to Wembley.

Yesterday Barcelona took on Bayern Munich who were as they should have been pretty optimistic. They started off tremendously well and went on to win the game with goals from Tomas Muller, Mario Gomez, Arjen Robben and Tomas Muller.

Bayern Munich used their set plays and delivered inviting crosses into the area which showed the vulnerability of the Spanish Giants. Two of the four goals came through plays like this as a Muller inspired side cruised past the sloppy Barca.

Just 24 hours later the hopes were just as high for a much anticipated semi final tie, Real Madrid took on Borussia Dortmund at the Signal Iduna Park. Borussia Dortmund broke the deadlock just 8 minutes in as Lewandowski converted from the spot. Late into the half it was indeed Cristiano Ronaldo who equalized just after a controversial penalty call on the other end. Second half kicked off as Dortmund came with a bang scoring another one through Robert Lewandowski.

Not too long after it was the man of the night who made it 3-1, Robert Lewandowski fired past Diego Lopez in the top net to get his hat-trick. If it wasn’t a long enough trip for Los Blancos, the hosts made it worse. Lewandowski yet again converted from the spot to finish off a remarkable performance.

After these results you really think there is still a question as to who makes the finals? There is still more to come in the second phase of the ties so stay tuned!

Full time scores;

Bayern Munich 4-0 Barcelona

Borussia Dortmund 4-1 Real Madrid
